ANSWER: You do need an appointment which can be scheduled on our website since we are mostly mobile.
What will my total cost be for my specific license or fingerprint type?
ANSWER: Total cost of your appointment will vary depending on the reason you will be fingerprinted. Typical total cost is $85 for licensing. $36 rolling + $49 DOJ/FBI
Why do DOJ/FBI fees vary between $0 and $93?
ANSWER: Government fees vary depending on the level of service and how intensive your background check will be. For example if you will be doing a fingerprint appointment with a firearm the fees go up dramatically because of the extensive background needed.
How do I know the exact fee for my applicant type and ORI code?
ANSWER: You can locate the ORI number on the live scan request form and then give us a call. We can walk you through what the costs will be. Sometimes agencies pay the government fees and you will only need to pay for the rolling fee.
What forms do I need to bring to my Live Scan appointment?
ANSWER: You will need a completed Live Scan Request form for the appointment. You should bring three(3) copies to the appointment.
How do I get and correctly fill out the Live Scan request form?
ANSWER: You should get the correct live scan request form from the agency asking you to be fingerprinted. You will only need to provide your personal information on the form.
What forms of ID are acceptable?
ANSWER: CA Driver license, CA identification card, US passport or other state driver license. If you do not have one of these forms of ID additional forms will be needed to establish identity such as a utility bill, social security card, etc.
Can documents be completed at your visit, or must they be filled out in advance?
ANSWER: You can fill out your form at the time of your appointment.
How long does the fingerprinting process take?
ANSWER: The process in-office takes about 10 minutes while a mobile live scan appointment take about 15 minutes
Do you offer evening, weekend, or emergency appointments?
ANSWER: We offer appointments at various times thoughout the day. 8AM-10PM M-F We are only closed on Sunday
Who performs the Live Scan? What are their qualifications?
ANSWER: All our technicians are certified by the Department of Jusice with our lead techician having 7 years of experience.
Are you licensed and accredited to perform Live Scan fingerprinting?
ANSWER: Yes we are licensed by the Department of Justice and all of our fingerprint rollers are certifid by the DOJ.
What happens if DOJ/FBI processing returns an issue or requires resubmission?
ANSWER: If your fingerprints are rejected and need to be resubmitted to the DOJ we will do this for free at no cost
Do you offer traditional ink fingerprinting (FD-258) in addition to electronic Live Scan?
ANSWER: Yes we offer ink fingerprint cards. Usually used for immigration or out of state submissions. We recommend doing two(2) cards when being ink fingerprinted.
Can I bundle Live Scan with notary, apostille, or virtual notarization services?
ANSWER: Yes of course you can bundle any of our services. The only request would be to mention this when scheduling an appointment either online or when you call.
Do you provide apostille processing for documents used internationally?
ANSWER: Yes we offer apostille processing for all types of documents including FBI background checks.
How do you protect my personal information and fingerprint data?
ANSWER: Your personal information is secure and only transmitted over a secure VPN stucture approved by the DOJ. We store your personal information in a locked safe for one year after which it is destroyed.
What if I am unsure about my ORI code or applicant type?
ANSWER: You will need to contact the agency requesting the fingerprinting and find out the needed information. We can't submit your prints without knowing where to send them. The ORI code tells the DOJ who will receive the results of your background check.
How soon will my results be available, and how will I be notified?
ANSWER: Your results are more likely to be completed between 2 hours and 2 weeks. Most background checks are done within hours. You should check with the receiving agency unless you are doing a record review.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
ANSWER: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment we ask that you give us a call at least one hour prior to your appointment time.
What is U.S. DoJ Order 556-73 and Title 28 CFR Part 16?
ANSWER: U.S. Department of Justice Order 556-73 establishes how you may request your FBI Identity History Summary (IdHS) for personal review or to confirm no record exists. Under 28 CFR Part 16, you may use your IdHS to review, correct, or update your own record; it is not for employment or licensing (those checks must go through the state identification bureau or requesting agency).
How can I retrieve my completed FBI Background Report?
ANSWER: When processing is complete, we email you a link to a secure website. To access your report, use two-factor authentication:
• Log in with your username and password.
• Enter the 7-digit code sent to your mobile phone (or choose an automated phone call to receive the code if you prefer not to receive texts or use a landline).
Will the personal information I provide be protected?
ANSWER: Yes. We follow strict security protocols to protect your data and to maintain authorized access to FBI and other sensitive information. Your request is handled with the highest regard for privacy and data security.
Can you send my FBI Criminal Report to an address outside of the United States?
ANSWER: No. The FBI prohibits channelers from disseminating your information outside of the United States.
Can my FBI Criminal Report results be sent to another individual?
ANSWER: You may have your FBI report mailed to a designated attorney.
How can I update or dispute my FBI record?
ANSWER: The FBI does not directly modify criminal history information. Records are compiled from data provided by federal, state, and local agencies. You must contact the contributing agency in the state of the arrest to request correction, updating, or further information.
How do I challenge information reported by the FBI?
ANSWER: You may challenge your criminal history information by submitting a written record-challenge request with supporting documentation. Mail your challenge to:
